Leader AUCHAN ‘Talent Program’
LEADERSHIP / TALENT MANAGEMENT
About the project
The “Auchan Leader” talent program is an innovative development initiative that combines a hybrid training approach – online activities and on-site workshops. The project was created to support talent development at Auchan and equip participants with key competencies necessary in a dynamic work environment. Using a gamification platform and innovative development tools, the program enabled participants to learn new skills in an attractive and interactive format.
Implementation of the project is a response to the key needs of the modern labor market, where the effectiveness of development activities must go hand in hand with their accessibility and engaging nature. Thanks to this, “Auchan Leader” is a model example of a development program that combines business objectives with the individual potential of employees
Hybrid online activities and workshops in the talent program
The “Auchan Leader” talent program was based on a hybrid training model, combining online activities with practical on-site workshops. This approach allowed participants to develop key competencies both in a virtual environment and during live meetings.
Stationary activities included:
- Thematic workshops: Practical activities focusing on developing key competencies such as leadership skills and team collaboration.
- MasterMind Sessions: Moderated discussions where participants worked together to solve real professional problems, sharing knowledge and experiences.
- BrownBag Session meetings: Looser, inspirational learning sessions in an informal atmosphere that fostered creative exchange of ideas and relationship building within the team.
The hybrid nature of the program allowed participants to flexibly combine online learning with on-site workshops, resulting in comprehensive development of their competencies.
Talent Reflect - a key element of the talent program
As part of the “Auchan Leader” talent program, participants used the Talent Reflect test, which was integrated with a gamification platform. The test provided detailed information on participants’ strengths, supporting their development early in the program.
Key elements of Talent Reflect:
- Diagnosis of participants’ individual talents and competencies.
- Score reports that identified: The greatest strengths, Areas requiring further development, Preferences for teamwork.
- Basis for tailoring further development activities (workshops, mentoring).
Talent Reflect was the first step of the program, which provided participants with a better understanding of their aptitudes and increased their motivation for further involvement.
The plot of the talent program - construction of the city as a symbol of development
The storyline was a key element of the gamification platform and was a hallmark of the entire program. Participants took on the role of builders of a city, which symbolized the development of their talents and competencies. Each step, mission or achievement symbolized “successive bricks” in the process of competence development.
The role of the storyline in engaging participants:
- The construction of the city was a pictorial representation of the participants’ development – step by step, task by task.
- The plot gave context to the tasks performed, which motivated participants to participate systematically.
- Participants were able to track their performance and achievements transparently, which reinforced the sense of progress and goal achievement.
The storyline is a key differentiator of the platform, making the entire development process consistent and attractive.
Microlearning - small steps, big results
Microlearning is an integral part of the platform, allowing participants to learn through short, modular materials. Each module was tailored to specific competencies, and knowledge was delivered in an accessible and engaging format.
Why it’s worth it.
- Learning in small portions makes it easier to absorb and remember information.
- Participants can quickly acquire practical skills that can be immediately applied on the job.
- Variety of formats, such as e-books, infographics, interactive knowledge pills.
Examples of materials from the platform:
Effective team: 5 principles (e-book)
Is your team in sync? (infographic)
Communication to support innovation (interactive pill)
